The World Youth Parliament for Water is an organization that invites youth to take part in awareness-raising for youth water issues. As a member, you will become part of a wide network of young water enthusiasts spread all over the world. Together we can respond to the interests of youth, prioritise water issues and create a platform for the expertise of youth to be recognized on a decision-making level.

Joining WYPW connects you to a network of inspiring water stories. You will learn by doing, work in global task forces and take action for water issues.

You have to be a youth (under 35) passionate about water issues to become a member.

It should take you about 5 – 10 minutes. We ask you questions such as the line of work you are currently involved in to get an idea of what you are up to, which gives us insight in how you can best help us and how we can best help you.

Within two weeks you will receive an email which will say if you were accepted. Rejections happen on the base of age (too old) and when we recognize a faulty registration (key information is not provided, or member is already registered, etc.). You will receive one of our newsletters as well, which should provide an update on our current affairs.

Someone of our membership team will also reach out to you to discuss how you could specifically contribute to our work (become part of a working group, setting up a chapter in your own country, working on a specific project, etc.).

Yes of course. We need all the support we can get! If you have expertise or opportunities relevant to our aims, we kindly invite you to reach out to us. Intergenerational alliances are key to building a better world.

As someone supporting our network being over the age of 35, it will not be possible to have a membership status, but we see you as our esteemed partner.

First of all, it’s amazing that you are willing to set-up a youth parliament! Please contact your regional focal point for more information. Together you can figure out if there is no other parliament yet and which members could support in your endeavour. You can then write a formal request to our President who will, with the consent of the other board members, grant you the official claim to a new chapter. Together with the board, regional focal point and local members, you will be supported in formulating your specific structures and regional objectives to build a strong foundation for the activities of the new chapter to be undertaken.
